We are looking for volunteers to play with and car for the children attending our Mum & Toddler Group, which provides a safe space for women to build connections and community.
Role
General responsibilities
> Getting out appropriate toys and games for free play.
> Leading simple activities organised by the Women and Family Worker .
> In time, and if they have appropriate experience, volunteers may wish to plan activities or games themselves.
> Adhering to training and guidelines given to ensure the safety and well-being of all who attend.
Important pre-requisites for the role
> One of the most important characteristics we are looking for in volunteers is an enthusiasm and passion for children, and an interest in wanting to positively impact their lives.
> Working with toddlers can be frustrating at times. Volunteers should be patient and able to deal with potentially stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.
> Great communication skills are needed in order to effectively listen and talk to the children.
> Volunteers should be creative and flexible and able to adapt when things don’t go to plan.
> Be 18 years old or over.
> Be a person of Christian faith, rooted in a Church community.

Pattern of hours: The group runs on a Wednesday from 9.30-11.30. Volunteers should arrive by 9 and may be required to stay until 12. The group runs year round with a few weeks off throughout the year for holidays.
