Alongside Kintsugi Hope, we work with local churches to provide groups that focus on people’s mental health and wellbeing.
“Kintsugi” (金継ぎ) is a Japanese technique for repairing broken pottery with gold. This makes the repaired item more valuable and shows the beauty in the brokenness. A Kintsugi Hope group provides a welcoming, safe and supportive space where people can work through their brokenness and learn coping strategies for the hard times, as well as understanding their value and worth.
Over 12 weeks we look at subjects such as disappointment, loss, anxiety, anger, perfectionism, shame and resilience. The group works in a peer mentoring format, with discussion and exercises. The Bethany team are also available for more support or signposting to other services where needed.
Currently this is hosted on Monday afternoons at Parkhead Nazarene Church, Glasgow.
